Physics is everywhere, from the cellphones in your pocket to the stars in the sky. Go PHYS Girl is your chance to explore how physics shapes our world and how you can be part of it. Join the Schulich School of Engineering for this free event for girls and underrepresented youth in Grades 7 to 11 to discover the power and possibility of physics through hands-on activities, inspiring stories, and real-world applications. Go PHYS Girl is a national initiative that introduces girls and non-binary youth to the exciting world of physics. Hosted at universities across Canada, this event is led by experts in physics and engineering who share their journeys, challenges, and successes. Whether you're curious about how the universe works or how physics can solve real-life problems, this event is for you.

If your participant has accessibility and accommodation needs, please contact schulichdiversity@ucalgary.ca.

Note: While the content is designed for youth currently in grades 7-11, we welcome students one or two grades above and below this range to register.

The University of Calgary, located in the heart of Southern Alberta, both acknowledges and pays tribute to the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta (Districts 5 and 6).

The University of Calgary is situated on land Northwest of where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, a site traditionally known as Moh’kins’tsis to the Blackfoot, Wîchîspa to the Stoney Nakoda, and Guts’ists’i to the Tsuut’ina. On this land and in this place we strive to learn together, walk together, and grow together “in a good way.”
