    April 2nd, 2025

Get Ready for You at UCalgary 2025: the Ultimate Welcome to Campus for the class of 2029!

Have you registered for You at UCalgary 2025 yet? If you’ve received an undergraduate offer of admission to the University of Calgary for Fall 2025, this is the event you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re just starting to think about attending or you’re already planning your next steps, here’s everything you need to know about this exciting, can’t-miss event.

    What is You at UCalgary?

You at UCalgary is a special event held every year for newly admitted UCalgary students. If you’ve received an offer to join us for Fall 2025, you should’ve already gotten an invitation sent to your UCalgary email. This event gives you the chance to explore campus, meet your future faculty, and discover valuable resources to help you get ready for your UCalgary experience.

    Why Should You Attend?

Attending You at UCalgary comes with some incredible perks, including the chance to qualify for early course enrolment. Here’s how it works: if you attend the event, AND you’ve accepted your offer and paid your non-refundable admission deposit by midnight (MST) on April 11, you’ll be eligible for early enrolment. Early course enrolment start times will be awarded to high school students who attend You at UCalgary (so make sure you check-in)! Your new enrolment start time will be updated and visible in your My UCalgary student portal by April 30 after your attendance at the event is confirmed. This is your opportunity to secure your courses before they fill up—how exciting is that?

What’s Happening at the In-Person Event?

For Students: You won’t want to miss all the amazing activities planned for You at UCalgary! The event will be packed with opportunities to explore campus, learn about student life, and meet your future classmates.

One of the highlights is Rex’s Passport Challenge, running from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. During the challenge, you’ll explore campus and have the chance to win one of five awesome awards! If you don't want to tackle the Challenge solo, you’ll also have the opportunity to complete the challenge alongside your future classmates, guided by student reps who will help you navigate the experience. It’s a fun way to discover what UCalgary has to offer!

After the challenge, you’ll visit your Faculty Hub to meet staff, faculty members, and your future peers. You’ll learn all about your program, unique opportunities, and what to expect as you dive into your academic journey.

For Parents, guardians and families — we’ve got something for you too! Families are invited to attend the Parent and Family Hub on the first floor of Hunter Student Commons. This space will offer valuable sessions on finances, student services, and tips for supporting your student’s UCalgary experience.

    What About the Online Event?

Can’t make it to campus in person? No problem! We’ve got a fantastic online version of You at UCalgary that’s just as engaging. You’ll still get the chance to join an online Faculty Hub, meet future faculty and classmates, and explore all the possibilities at UCalgary.

And just like the in-person event, you can still participate in Rex’s Passport Challenge online for a chance to win one of two UCalgary awards!

    Ready to Start?

Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to connect, explore, and kick off your UCalgary journey in style. The University of Calgary, located in the heart of Southern Alberta, both acknowledges and pays tribute to the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta (Districts 5 and 6).

The University of Calgary is situated on land Northwest of where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, a site traditionally known as Moh’kins’tsis to the Blackfoot, Wîchîspa to the Stoney Nakoda, and Guts’ists’i to the Tsuut’ina. On this land and in this place we strive to learn together, walk together, and grow together “in a good way.”
