I have not yet obtained a degree
- Students are considered post-secondary transfer when they have completed 12 units or more of academic course work from a recognized/accredited institution by December 31 of the year prior to the year of admission.
- Transfer credit may be awarded on a course-by-course basis.
I have obtained a degree
- Students who hold a three- or four-year bachelor's degree from a recognized/accredited institution may pursue a program leading to a second or subsequent bachelor's degree provided they qualify for admission.
- Students can receive up to 60 units (up to two years) of transfer credit.
I am currently or have previously studied in a college or CEGEP
I have not yet obtained a diploma
- Students are considered post-secondary transfer when they have completed 12 units or more of academic course work from a recognized/accredited institution by December 31 of the year prior to the year of admission.
I have obtained a diploma
- Students who hold a two- or three-year diploma from a recognized/accredited institution may pursue a program leading to a bachelor's degree provided they qualify for admission.
- Students can receive up to 30 units (up to one year) of transfer credit.

- Each program has unique required courses - you can review the required courses for your program with our Admissions Requirements Widget.
- Programs can require either high school or post-secondary level courses.
- Certain programs require a supplemental application.
- Transfer admission GPA will be calculated using the most recent academic work to a maximum of 30 units (University of Calgary courses and/or academic courses taken at other institutions), unless otherwise specified by the Faculty.
- All courses attempted within a term will be included except where the number of courses taken within a term results in the overall number of units exceeding 30 - should this occur, the highest grades from the oldest being term considered will be used to calculate the GPA.
- Courses taken and awarded credit on an alternative grading system (e.g., Credit Received (CR), Credit Granted (CG), pass, complete) will not be used as part of the 30 units to calculate the admission average.
- Courses taken in Winter 2020 through Winter 2021 that are graded or were awarded credit on an alternative grading system will be used to meet required courses for admission - courses taken after Winter 2021 must be graded to be used to meet specific required courses for admission.
