Book this type of appointment if you have questions about the status of your application indicated in your student portal. Before booking, we invite you to read the FAQs below:
Q: How do I view the status of my application?
A: After filling out your initial application and creating a UCID you will have access to your student portal, which will be your main hub for updating and checking your application - you can check your status from the 'my application' tab.
Q: How do I know if my application is complete?
A: Depending on what stage your application has arrived at, you may have to action on certain items in your 'To-Do List' (also in your student portal) for us to be able to proceed. Please note that optional checklists are not required and will not hinder the progress of your application in any way.
Q: How long will it take for my application to be completed once I've submitted documents?
A: After you submit a document or supplementary requirement for your application please allow us 3-5 days if you're a domestic applicant, and 1-2 weeks if you're an international applicant to process them before you'll see any updates in your student portal.
If you do not have any required items to action on and no current updates on your status this is most likely because we are currently in some stage of evaluating your application. Please allow us 2-4 weeks for national high school applicants, 4-8 weeks for National transfer and U.S. high school and transfer applicants, and 6-10 weeks for all other international credentials to evaluate your application, after which, you will receive your admissions decision.
Q: When can I expect an admission decision?
A: Admissions decisions are given during a wide period of time depending on which admissions window you're applying to, so not everyone will receive decisions at the same time. Please do not worry if your decision is taking longer to arrive than others. Admissions timelines are not exact, and so we cannot provide you an exact timeline of when you will advance in each stage of your application.
Q: I've been asked to submit course outlines. What do I need to submit?
A: When submitting detailed course outlines, ensure the following information is included:
- Institution, faculty, department or school name and contact information
- detailed list of topics covered,
- list of textbooks used,
- grading/assessment practices,
- number of weeks of attendance (excluding examination period) and
- number of lecture, laboratory and tutorial hours per week.
Calendar descriptions are not acceptable. The outline provided to the student by the instructor at the beginning of the course is usually sufficient. Alternatively, outlines may sometimes be obtained from the department offering the course.
Q: I've been waitlisted. What are the next steps?A: At this time, your admission average is below the admitting average for your selected program. No action is required on your part while you will remain on the waitlist. Candidates will be reviewed based on their average, with a top-down approach. If you'd like to modify your program of study, you can do so before the March 1st deadline by logging back into your application.
Q: What is my position on the waitlist?
A: We cannot share your position on a waitlist. Waitlists are based on grade-point averages. Should more spaces become available, applicants on the waitlist with the highest average will be given an offer first.
Q: What are my chances of getting an offer off the waitlist?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot speculate on your chances of getting an offer off the waitlist as program demand changes from year to year.
