    Eat your way around Calgary!

Find out what the best places to eat are in the city of Calgary, according to current University of Calgary students!

Calling all foodies! Great news for you – Calgary has a great restaurant scene, and we are here to tell you all the best spots to eat in YYC.

    UNA Pizza

Una SushiThe pizza at UNA can’t be beat. After a long day of classes, nothing compares to a nice margherita pizza! If pizza isn’t your thing, they have amazing salads and pasta as well!

    The Bro’kin Yolk

If you love brunch, this is the spot. Their waffles are always fresh, and their breakfast poutine always hits the spot! There are a few locations across the city, but if you plan on going on a weekend, be prepared to wait as it can get busy… so worth it though!

    JINYA Ramen

There’s nothing better than warm soup on a chilly day, specifically a bowl of ramen. JINYA offers a customizable menu, so you can really make it your own and have it satisfy whatever you’re craving that day!

    The Den

Last but not least, we have The Den, which happens to be right here on campus at the University of Calgary! A common favorite menu item is the nachos, which come on a huge tray and are perfect for sharing (or not, it’s totally up to you). It’s a great place to catch up with friends or grab food before or after a lecture with your classmates!

    Vendome Café

The menu at Vendome is simple yet amazing! They offer a wide selection of options for all dietary needs, and the food always tastes great. The location is also perfect for studying, catching up with friends, or even just grabbing a coffee to-go.

    Peter’s Drive-In

The best milkshakes in Calgary can be found at Peter’s Drive-In. They have several flavours to choose from and their burgers, fries, and onion rings never disappoint! It’s not too far from campus either, which gives you even more of a reason to go.

    Starbelly Open Kitchen + Lounge

Rated one of the best restaurants in the city, this place has it all. Whether it’s going for dinner or their weekend brunch, their food always tastes fantastic! The inside space is both upscale and casual, with high ceilings and modern yet rustic vibe.

The University of Calgary, located in the heart of Southern Alberta, both acknowledges and pays tribute to the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta (Districts 5 and 6).

The University of Calgary is situated on land Northwest of where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, a site traditionally known as Moh’kins’tsis to the Blackfoot, Wîchîspa to the Stoney Nakoda, and Guts’ists’i to the Tsuut’ina. On this land and in this place we strive to learn together, walk together, and grow together “in a good way.”
