October 8, 2023 Applying as a BC Applicant for the fall 2024 intake The University of Calgary has introduced a number of new changes to the application process for BC applicants. Learn more about how to apply as a BC applicant for the fall 2024 intake Starting university in a new or different province can expand your horizons and challenge you to try new things! To support your application to UCalgary, this article will take you through the application process for a student from British Columbia. Where should I start? Before you begin your application, you will want to explore our 250+ programs and program combinations spread across 10 of our 14 faculties. You will discover programs that interest you and help you select your top two program choices. Our application allows you to apply to two programs a first choice, and a second choice. If you receive an offer to your first choice, this is the only offer you will receive. We recommend you rank your choices with your most desired program as your first choice. Choose a program with a lower competitive admission average as your second choice. Once you know the programs you will apply to, make sure you check the admission requirements for both programs. If you apply to a combined program, you will need to meet the admission requirements for both programs. When can I apply? Applications for the Fall 2024 term open October 1st, 2023, and will close March 1st, 2024. In addition to March 1st, 2024 being the last day to apply, it is also the last day to change your program choices within the application. It’s important to note that if you choose to change your application program choices after receiving an offer of admission, your offer of admission will be forfeited for us to complete another evaluation for your updated program(s) of choice. How do I apply? New this year, British Columbian students will need to apply through the ApplyAlberta website before they can submit a UCalgary application. To do this, you will need to complete the following:
For non-semester/linear schools, students can submit interim transcripts with their mid-year assessment or marks after January 1. Interim transcripts can be uploaded via the Student Centre; documents should include the student’s full name. If you have attended any other high school or post-secondary outside Alberta or BC, please refer to our documents page for more details on transcript submission. Need more support? We’ve created this application guide which will walk you through the process. Students from British Columbia are able to apply the same way as students from Alberta, there’s a quick walk-through guide available on our How to Apply page. What else can I do after I have applied? We offer guided tours of campus between Monday and Friday or attend a virtual event. If you are visiting on the weekend, you can download our Discover UCalgary App which can lead you through a self-guided tour of campus. Our app can take you on a tour of campus even if you can’t physically make it to Calgary!
