    The countdown is on — Open House is happening Saturday, October 24, 2026! Have you registered yet? Whether you're a future student who already has a program in mind or you're still deciding what path is right for you, Open House is designed to help you picture yourself on campus. From campus tours and discovery sessions to connecting with students, staff, and alumni, there are countless opportunities to learn more about university life and what makes the UCalgary community unique.

    Open House is full of energy, and there is something happening around every corner. To kick things off, make your way to the main exhibition hall, where every faculty at UCalgary is ready to meet you. From engineering and business to arts, science, and beyond, you'll discover the many ways you can pursue your interests. Faculty representatives, current students, and staff will be available to answer questions about programs, admissions, student experiences, and career pathways. If you have more than one passion, this is also the perfect place to learn about combined degree options. For example, you could pair kinesiology and business to prepare for a future in sports management. It's a great opportunity to explore possibilities you may not have considered while finding the academic path that best matches your goals.

    Next, head over to Hunter Student Commons. Here, you'll discover the many services and supports that make UCalgary much more than just a place to earn a degree. Learn about experiential learning opportunities that help you gain hands-on experience, study abroad programs that let you explore the world while earning credits, Dinos Athletics, the Writing Symbols Lodge, career development resources, student wellness services, and so much more. These resources are designed to support students throughout their university journey, both inside and outside the classroom, helping them succeed academically, personally, and professionally.
    Next, head upstairs to the Prospective Student Hub, where the admissions and recruitment team can answer your application questions and even help you begin your UCalgary application right on the spot. It's a great opportunity to receive personalized guidance and feel more confident about your next steps.

    You can also dive deeper by attending a discovery session. These engaging presentations, demonstrations, and mini lectures give you the chance to connect with faculty members, programs, and current students while getting a feel for what learning at UCalgary can actually look like. For example, the Faculty of Nursing will bring equipment from their Clinical Simulation Learning Centre to the session, where you can see firsthand how BScN students practice real-world healthcare skills. With sessions covering a wide range of programs and topics, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to explore your interests and discover what studying at UCalgary could look like for you.

    No visit to UCalgary is complete without exploring campus for yourself! Throughout the day, you’ll find a variety of guided tour options that can help you see the spaces and places that interest you most. Looking for a closer look at a particular faculty? Connect with faculty and student services teams at their booths to find out what specialized tours they’re offering, from Engineering facilities to Art and Art History studios and more.

    Prefer a broader introduction to campus? Head to the first floor of Hunter Student Commons (HNSC) to join a general campus tour or residence tour. These tours depart every 30 minutes, making them an easy way to explore campus, check out where students live, and get a feel for your future home. Along the way, you can also explore popular student spaces like Active Living and the university libraries, where students study, connect, and build community throughout the year. And if you’re thinking about living on campus, don’t forget that UCalgary guarantees first-year housing for students who apply by May 1.

    To make the most of your visit, plan your day ahead of time so you don't miss the discovery sessions, tours, or activities that interest you most.
